‘Full-Screen’ Redmi Note 5 Gets Certified With 4GB Of RAM

The Xiaomi MET7 and MEE7 variants have been certified by TENAA (China’s equivalent to the FCC), and by the looks of it, these could be two models of the company’s upcoming Redmi Note 5 handset. This device had surfaced a couple of times thus far, and as you can see, the device will have rather thin bezels. We still do not know how thin its black bars will be, or if it will sport any at all. Now, by the looks of it, this handset will be made out of metal, while it will sport a rear-facing fingerprint scanner. The device will come with a single camera on the back, and its display will sport rounded corners.

According to TENAA, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 will be fueled by an octa-core processor which will be clocked at 2.0GHz, while the device will pack in 3GB / 4GB of RAM and 32GB / 64GB of expandable storage (expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card). The Redmi Note 5 is rumored to arrive on November 11, and these two TENAA listings date back to October 19, in case you were wondering. The two listings also suggests that Android 7.1.2 Nougat will come pre-installed on the phone, and even though TENAA does not mention anything about Xiaomi’s skin, this handset will almost certainly ship with MIUI 9 OS out of the box. As far as cameras are concerned, the Redmi Note 5 is expected to come with a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera, while you’ll find a 5-megapixel snapper on its front side, at least if TENAA is to be believed. The Redmi Note-branded phones usually ship with rather large batteries on the inside, and the Redmi Note 5 will not be an exception, the device will come with a 4,000mAh battery, though it seems like it will not be removable, which was to be expected.

TENAA says that the Redmi Note 5 will arrive in Black, Rose Gold, Gold, White, Blue, Red, Pink, Gray and Silver color variants, which means that it will be available in more color options than any of its predecessors. The device is said to measure 158.5 x 75.45 x 8.05mm, while it will weight 179.5 grams, reports TENAA. What about its display? Well, the Redmi Note 4 shipped with a 5.5-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) display, though it also had considerably thicker bezels than this handset, and TENAA reports that the Redmi Note 5 will sport a 5.99-inch fullHD+ (2160 x 1080) panel, which actually goes hand-in-hand to some previous leaks. If this info is accurate, the Redmi Note 5 will become the first Redmi Note-branded handset to sport a display with an 18:9 aspect ratio.
