A new ‘Made for Google’ related site page has now gone live online and provides links to various products that owners of ‘Made by Google’ devices might want to consider picking up due to the reassurance of quality and compatibility that is said to be on offer with this program.
At present, the page seems to be more of a work in progress as although the page listing does detail a significant number of partner brands and manufacturers with buttons (linking to the respective pages), those buttons do not seem to be live for all brands and manufacturers at the moment. So this is something that is likely to continually be updated over time as and when partner products become available to buy. For now, the page seems more focused on providing information on which names have signed up for the program. Some of which include Belkin, dbrand, Kate Spade, OtterBox and Under Armour. As a result and in spite of a number of the links still inactive, there are quite a few products to check out and ones which span the width of the smartphone accessory sector, including cases, headphones, screen protectors, and so on. It is worth keeping in mind that although the page mainly acts as a link base to those third-party partner brand websites, some of these products had already been noted as making their way directly to the Google Store, such as the two new ‘Made For Google’ headphones from Libratone.
Made for Google was launched during Google’s 2017 October 4 event alongside a number of new hardware options from the company, including the new Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL smartphones. With the premise being that any product that is labeled as ‘Made for Google’ has gone through the company’s own certification process and is deemed right for the likes of the Pixel 2 or the Pixelbook. In short, and as the new page clearly states, this is essentially a list of Google’s “preferred partner brands.” Those who have bought a new Made by Google product recently, or plan you, can check out the new page as well as the various accessories now listed, through the link below.
