Sprint Debuts The ‘Safe & Found’ Android App For Parents

Sprint launched a new Android app for parents called Safe & Found, with the company’s latest offering being designed to facilitate parenting in the digital age. The service allows you to easily locate your child(ren) and verify they’re safe, in addition to providing you with a variety of tools to help you regulate their internet usage. The wireless carrier created the app in partnership with Smith Micro Software whose SafePath Platform is the backbone of Safe & Found, enabling features like real-time location of devices that have the service installed, as well as robust geo-fencing capabilities allowing you to create safe zones and be alerted whenever your children leave and enter them.

Much like other services of its kind, Safe & Found supports SOS alerts which users are able to send to their connected family members with a tap of a digital button, in addition to allowing parents to prevent their children from calling particular phone numbers, or disabling calls to all but specific contacts. A customizable internet content filter is also part of the package, as is a dedicated remote device management system which enables you to locate your device, lock it, and wipe it of data in case it’s lost or stolen. The Safe & Found app is compatible with most smartphones running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and later versions of the operating system and can also be installed on iOS-powered iPhones from the Apple App Store.

The fourth largest mobile service provider in the United States is offering Safe & Found as a subscription service for $6.99 per month which it describes as a time-limited offer, suggesting that the app may go up in price at some point in the future. All new users are automatically enrolled in a 15-day trial period when they start using Safe & Found, so they’re able to cancel the service at any point during the first two weeks and not be charged anything, with this particular promotion also being labeled as a time-limited offer. The app itself can be downloaded from the Google Play Store free of charge by referring to the banner below and you can follow the one under it to find out more details about Sprint’s new digital parenting solution.
