Urban Armor Outs Plasma Cases For Google Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL

Urban Armor on Friday announced a new Plasma series of protective cases for the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, the latest Android flagships from Google which debuted earlier this month. Much like most other offerings from the Orange County, California-based phone accessory maker, the Plasma cases for the Pixel 2 lineup are rugged additions to the recently announced smartphones which are meant to protect them against regular wear and tear, as well as mechanical damage and shocks. The offerings were made in accordance with the drop-testing standards of the United States Military (810G 516.6) and should deliver a maximum level of protection, the company claims.

The Plasma series of cases entails two color options — Ash and Ice — and will start shipping in approximately two weeks, with both models being priced at $39.95. The accessories feature spacious cutouts for the camera setup found on the rear panels of Google’s new Android flagships while still being thick enough to make smaller drops a non-issue, with Urban Armor claiming that its products were designed to complement both the hardware and software of the Pixel 2 lineup. The two products feature soft cores meant to cushion any impact during drops while simultaneously boasting a sturdy and durable outer shell and a composite construction designed to not add any significant weight to the devices. The USB Type-C port found on the two smartphones is easily accessible when they’re inside the Plasma cases which also don’t inhibit their NFC capabilities in any way, meaning you’ll still be able to use Android Pay. Finally, the tactile buttons found on the two cases have been enlargened in an effort to facilitate everyday use, the firm suggested.

Both cases presently seem to be in stock and will start shipping to customers just before the Pixel 2 XL is scheduled to hit the market.
