Weekly Poll: Are You Buying The Pixel 2 Or Pixel 2 XL?

Google’s Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL are officially here now, and not just in spirit directly following Google’s announcement on October 4th, but actually available as you can buy them from not only the Google Store online, but also through Verizon Wireless if you prefer to pick it up directly from your carrier and in-store so you can immediately go home with it in-hand. Wherever you choose to grab one, this year’s take on Google’s in-house phone vision has one big question that everyone who is interested is likely asking themselves, and that’s whether to go with the Pixel 2 or the Pixel 2 XL. Both are relatively similar in most regards, but there are a few differences. Namely the screen.

Interestingly enough, both the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL feature the Active Edge component, which many suspected would be limited to the HTC-made Pixel 2. Luckily those who want this feature won’t have to choose between it and a bigger screen, as they can have both if they wish. When it comes to the differences, as mentioned above the screen is the biggest and most noticeable difference. The Pixel 2 comes with a 5-inch display and it’s Full HD, while the Pixel 2 XL comes with a 6-inch Quad HD screen with minimal bezels. So immediately, there are some things which may draw some users towards one phone over the other. The minimal bezels may be a thing you value and have been wanting in a phone, in which case you might go with the Pixel 2 XL. Of course, despite having pretty big bezels and a smaller display, the Pixel 2 is more pocketable and more manageable size-wise for some users, in which case they might choose the Pixel 2 over the Pixel 2 XL.

Beyond the display, the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL both have different battery sizes. This year Google slimmed things down just a hair with the Pixel 2, bringing the battery down from 2,770mAh on the Pixel to just 2,700mAh, overall though this isn’t a huge change. The Pixel 2 XL comes with a larger 3,450mAh battery, which for some will be extremely useful, especially those coming from the Pixel who felt that the phone didn’t offer enough battery life. Those are really the only differences between the two, in addition to the colors, as you can only get the Kinda Blue color in the Pixel 2 model, while the Pixel 2 XL is the only one that has the Black and White mix.
