Sony Intros ‘Rosso’ Aka Red Variant Of The Xperia XZ Premium ~ All Things Android

Sony has just unveiled a new color version of the Xperia XZ Premium, the phone is now available in Red as well, though Sony refers to this color variant as ‘Rosso’. In addition to announcing the device, Sony also said that the phone will become available starting next week, though the company did not release any detailed availability info, all that it said is the following: “please check with your local operator and retailers for availability”. In addition to that, Sony did not mention anything about the phone’s price point either, which suggests that it will carry the same price point as all other Xperia XZ Premium devices in your region.

That being said, the ‘Rosso’ variant of the Xperia XZ Premium is identical to every other color version of this smartphone, the phone comes with the same design, and with the same set of specs. This means that the device is made out of metal and glass, while it sports rather noticeable bezels. The Xperia XZ Premium comes with a dedicated camera key on the right, where its volume up, volume down and power keys lie as well. This handset sports a 5.46-inch 4K (3840 x 2160) display, along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. The device is fueled by the Snapdragon 835 64-bit octa-core processor, while the phone packs in a 3,230mAh non-removable battery. A 19-megapixel snapper is placed on the back of this phone, while you’ll be able to find a 13-megapixel camera on the device’s front side. It is also worth noting that the phone sports a 3.5mm headphone jack, and that it comes with a set of stereo speakers.

The phone’s power key actually doubles as a fingerprint scanner, though you won’t see that feature in the US though. Android 7.1 Nougat comes pre-installed on the Xperia XZ Premium, while Android 8.0 Oreo is on its way as well. The Xperia XZ Premium is also available in Luminous Chrome, Deepsea Black and Bronze Pink color variants, in case you were wondering, and the phone is also IP67 certified for water and dust resistance. The Sony Xperia XZ Premium was originally announced back in February during MWC in Barcelona, and Sony actually introduced two more flagships this year, the Xperia XZ1 and Xperia XZ1 Compact, both of which are more compact than the Xperia XZ Premium.
